Temporary lobby, café and reading room
2007/2009
Whitechapel Gallery
In 2007 the Whitechapel Gallery underwent a major refurbishment. DunnettCraven designed a low budget temporary lobby at the rear of the gallery to enable continued access for the duration of the two year project. We also remodelled the reading room with a view to enhancing the focus on a Liam Gillick artwork installed in the space. The run of reading desks we designed transformed into bar furniture in the evening, allowing for the use of the room for evening events as well as daytime study.
